Let eyes have a focal point on the ground ahead of you. In this case perhaps looks at a point were the floor meets the wall. This is the only mistake i see the inructor do. He looks straight ahead of him.

In the beginning it can be useful to turn your toes upwards. In this way u will get the right balance after just a few reps.

No, these are good for building muscle.. by trimming I assume you mean fat loss? That comes with a proper diet, cardio and weights.

Often when I do squats, I move my weight to my toes, not my heels. It seems like when I do that, I am using my calf muscles more than I should. Is it really important to keep my weight on my heels the whole time?
The reason I want to make sure is that it is much easier to keep my balance when I have my weight on my toes, but if that is incorrect I would not want to do it that way.

#16 by frostygalerina on April 26, 2010 - 4:11 am
You need to lean more towards your toes. Don’t lean all the way or you’ll fall forward, just focus on keeping your feet completely flat and even on the floor.

Calves are really what you jump with but essentially if you work your lower body your vertical should increase look into it a bit more.
